Emergency CallWorx® Awarded Contract by Baldwin County, Alabama for Next Generation Mapping and Dispatch Solution
First Alabama County to Benefit from Easy Web Browser System
Madison, AL, May 15, 2009 - Emergency CallWorx (ECX) announced today that it has been selected by the Baldwin County, Alabama Emergency Communications District (ECD) to provide an integrated Next Generation Mapping and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. The new system will improve the handling of emergency calls and increase the efficiency of operations for the communications center, which serves 53 law enforcement, fire and EMS services.
The system's completely integrated workflow design simplifies tasks, enhances operator performance, efficiently presents information, delivers unlimited report access and is designed for rapid implementation. Within a single easy-to-understand application, Baldwin County call takers and dispatchers will use a simple, familiar browser interface in the same manner in which they work today. By using dynamically integrated web browsers and Web 2.0 technologies, ECX products drastically reduce the cost-of-ownership incurred by agencies running traditional CAD systems. Simplified system administration, reduced licensing and training costs, and elimination of desktop PC compatibility issues provide cost savings while simplifying or eliminating many issues commonly found in today's dispatch centers.
"Baldwin County 911 is pleased to award the contract for Next Generation CAD and Mapping to Emergency CallWorx. Due to the architecture of the system, we will be fully functional at our secondary backup facility, during extreme or disaster situations, without a significant additional investment," said Chris Heger, Director of Baldwin County 911. "ECX has been very attentive to our interim and transitional needs, as well, and has taken an extremely proactive approach to helping us resolve those issues. ECX founder, Craig Dollar has assembled a wealth of experience in his staff and has developed a system that is highly efficient and effective in a real world environment."
Located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay, the Baldwin County ECD receives around 91,000 calls for service yearly and responds to over 82,000 incidents.
"ECX is pleased to provide a Next Generation Mapping and CAD system that will meet the needs of Baldwin County ECD today and well into the future," stated Craig Dollar, founder and CEO of Emergency CallWorx. "We look forward to sharing in the positive impacts that this partnership will bring as we roll the system out."
